Ocean Error Messages

400 Error:

This error indicates that the submitted request is invalid or a bad request. Generally, this points to an error with the software design of the client system.

Example: User cancels a referral from Ocean; this action is not currently supported by Novari. Consequently, the Novari server cannot process the request originating from Ocean. An email will be dispatched to the Clinical administrator in Ocean and may appear as follows:

404 Status Errors:

This error indicates that an external request does not exist for this referral as it was created prior to Novari/Ocean integration.

500 Status Errors:

This error indicates that the server encountered an Internal error during the process of response message. Below are a few examples -

500 Internal Server ErrorOcean is unable to send referrals to Novari due to the integration being disabled as a result of certain technical modifications made in Novari. The server stops responding and displays an error message. A notification email will be sent to the respective referral notification receiver in Ocean and may appear as follows:

A 500 error due to 'Failed to process the request with EventCode:'  is typically an indication of connectivity issue between the sites as the original connection was not established.

Example : An 500 error due to 'Failed to process the request with EventCode: send-communication from requestor' is triggered by an attempt to communicate regarding a referral established prior to the Novari Health implementation. If your site was operational with Ocean before Novari, any existing referrals that were not forwarded to Novari will result in 500 errors when further actions or messaging occur in Ocean. This happens because Novari did not obtain the original referral and is receiving updates for a referral that is nonexistent in Novari.

503 Error

If the Novari server is down, a 503 error will be displayed, indicating “The server is unavailable to handle this request right now” An email to the site administrator will appear as follows:

Exceeded Maximum Retries

This Message is generally triggered after Ocean exceeded the maximum attempts at resending a message that previously caused an Error 400.
