From the Novari ATC Main page:

  • Select User Preferences module.

From a module toolbar:

  • Select User Preferences from the Main menu.

Updating User Preferences

In the User Preferences list:

  • Change one or more preferences.

  • Click Update to save your preferences.

  • Click Cancel to exit without saving changes.

  • Some preferences, such as your password and PIN, are applied the next time you sign in. Others are applied immediately.

Effect

Default Care Venue

If your health center has more than one care venue, you can select the one you use most frequently to be the default care venue when adding a patient, or if you are using Care Venue module, to be your default care venue.

Default PSS Venue

If your site is using Pre-Surgical Screening functionality, you can select the one you use most frequently to be your default one.

Password

You can change your password. Enter a new one; enter it again to confirm. This is mandatory the first time you sign in to Novari ATC. It is good practice to change your password regularly.

PIN

If your site is configured for two-step authentication, you can change your PIN. Enter a new one and enter it again to confirm. This is mandatory the first time you sign in to Novari ATC. It is good practice to change your PIN regularly.

Default List Order for Elective Surgical Wait List

Choose how you want the wait list to be sorted each time you sign into Novari ATC. During the current session you can choose to sort the wait list by clicking on a column heading and that sort is retained during the current session until you manually change it.

Measure Patient Targets by Days or Percentage

Determines whether “Days / Percent to Target” is shown as a count in days or as a percentage.

Wait 2 Audit Delay Reasons Threshold

You may not have this setting, or it may have a different name, depending on your site’s configuration settings.

This setting is for how often a user must specify a Wait 2 System Delay on a case. For example, if the setting is 3 months, then any case actively waiting for surgery for over 3 months will require a Wait 2 System Delay reason be specified on the case.

This can also be controlled on the hospital level by your site administrator depending on the setting configuration for your installation. Contact your site Admin for further details.

Default Patient Search Field

When searching for a patient, you can search using HCN, MRN or Name. For example, if you tend to search using MRN more than HCN or Name, you can select that option to be the default. This reduces the number of clicks when searching for patients.

Default Patient Search Sort Order

Choose the order patient search results are displayed in when searching for a patient. By default, patients are displayed sorted by name.

Enter Booking Info on Patient Add

Choose to be automatically taken to the OR Booking form when adding a patient to the wait list. Choosing ‘Yes’ helps ensure the OR Booking form is complete.

Review PSS Info on Patient Add

Choose to be prompted/automatically directed to the PSS mini scheduler after a patient has been added to schedule a PSS appointment. Choose Yes, No or Ask me each time.

Show Weekdays Only in Booking Calendar?

Select which days – weekdays only or include weekends – are displayed in your booking calendar (Provider’s Office, Care Venue, Pre-Surgical Screening, etc.)

Display Notes Column on List View?

Display the Notes field for each patient on the wait list when viewing the list. This includes procedure notes and notes for internal use and is intended to reduce the need to click on a case to see these important notes.

Display Days on List as Adjusted?

Determines if View List shows the “Days Waited” as adjusted or not. Adjusted Days Waited factors patient unavailability ranges out of the wait time calculation.

Display Service Time on List View?

When Y is selected, the time for the scheduled surgery is displayed. It is useful if you want to see the time as well as the date of the scheduled surgical encounter.

Display Days to Target as Adjusted?

Determines whether View List shows the “Days to Target” as adjusted or not. Adjusted Days to Target factors patient unavailability ranges out of the calculation.

QuickScreen Field to show on List View?

Choose one QuickScreen field to display on the main list view. This adds a column to the right of the wait list with that QuickScreen’s value. QuickScreens are configurable. Your site may not have any.

Default Responsibility for Payment Selection

Choose the default responsibility for payment when adding a patient.

Default "Decision to Treat Date" on Add Patient

Choose to use the current date as the default date of decision to treat or to leave the date of decision to treat field blank.

Default Patients Per Page

Specify the default number of patients to show per page while viewing lists of patients. Choose, 25, 50, 100 or 250. You can override this value when viewing the list.

Target Type

Target type values (for expected days to wait for a surgical encounter) can vary based on the target type level. The Province or LHIN level for a specified wait time (based on Wait 2 score) can vary based on the Target Type level, although they are almost always the same between all levels. Contact your site administrator for further details on how wait time in days may vary based on Target Type level.

Empty or Not Submitted OR Block Warning

Determine if and when the system should issue a notification that surgery blocks are not submitted to the OR. The range is from NO WARNINGS to 28 days before the surgery date.

There are two ways that the system can notify you:

· On the Booking Calendar and Dashboard

· Via email to the email specified in your user preferences

If you handle patients for more than one provider, you can choose for which providers the OR Block warning should be sent.

If you have Pools, you can choose for which Pools the OR Block warning should be sent.

Clinical Data Collection Sheets

Select care venue/service for specific clinical data collection sheet.

Clinical Data Collection sheets provide a print-out of base level clinical information for a case. Users who are required to document this information typically print out the form, fill out the information (physically either in a provider’s office or during a pre-surgical screening) and are then scanned and attached to a case. The data displayed on the form can vary based on the provider’s service and the care venue the surgery is being performed at.

My QuickPicks

Choose which procedures you want to appear in the QuickPicks list when adding a patient to the wait list. If you don’t choose any, the QuickPicks defaults to the 10 commonly used procedures for the provider.
