Novari ATC Reports

Novari ATC comes with many pre-defined real-time reports for users and administrators. If you don’t see the Reports module on your Main page, you have not been given permission to this module. If you need access, contact your site administrator.

Novari ATC Reports are comprised of a predefined report template that is populated with a subset of data drawn from your Novari ATC database, giving you real-time reporting. You can create multiple subsets of data, allowing you to generate reports for some or all your health centers, care venues, services, providers and so on.

The reports provided with Novari ATC are a sampling of what is possible to report on. Novari Health can produce custom reports for clients. Ask your site administrator to contact Novari Health.

This user manual does not cover the Administrative Reports. Information about these reports can be found in the Reports (administrative reports only) user guide.

Reports Navigation Menu and Dashboard

When you access the Reports module, you see the Reports Dashboard. All reports you have access to are listed here. If you are not an administrator, you won’t see the Administrative Reports. If the GI Endoscopy DSP Report is not configured, you won’t see it. You may not have Custom Reports.

The reports listed on Reports in the Reports navigation menu correspond to the List Reports, Reports from Case Selection and Case Selection Criteria.

Case Selection Builder

The Case Selection Builder allows you to build sophisticated case selection criteria (CSC) to be used with report templates. You can limit the data in any template to an intersection of service, provider, hospital site, priority, diagnosis, procedure, procedure category, or any other data field captured by Novari ATC (excluding custom fields).

CSCs can be created, saved, and shared across the entire installation by administrators, or shared to individuals. By using the Case Selection Builder, users can create a library of CSCs which they can use to run specific report templates. For instance, they could create a CSC for the Main OR site to run those reports; they could create individual CSCs for individual services; or they could create CSCs for individual procedures or groups of procedures.

Creating a CSC

To create a Case Selection Criteria, on the Reports – Dashboard page, select Case Selection Criteria. This opens the Case Selection Builder.

The Case Selection Builder has four tabs: My CSCs, Shared CSCs, Admin CSCs and Remove.

To create a new CSC, select My CSCs, select Use Report Wizard, and then select Create New.

The Report Wizard leads you through the steps to select the criteria by which you can limit the data displayed in any of the report templates. The criteria are predefined and presented in the following sequence in the Report wizard:

  • Required selections

  • Health region

  • Health center

  • Care venue

  • Services

  • Filters

  • Provider

  • Pool

  • Procedure category

  • Procedure

  • Diagnosis category

  • Priority category

  • Emergency

  • IP/OP

  • Anesthetic

  • Patient

  • QuickScreens

  • QuickScreen values

  • Unavailable reasons

  • Referral types

  • No referral

  • Referral source

  • Wait 1 system delay reason

  • Responsibility for payment

You must select a health region, health center, care venue and service, after which you can choose to continue adding criteria or finish the wizard.

Navigating in the wizard

  • Double-click an item to move it from one area to the other.

  • Use All >> and << All to move all items from one area to the other.

  • Select << Previous to return to the previous page, Next >> to move to the next page or Finish to end the wizard.

Saving your CSC

  • When you select Finish (step 4 and beyond), enter a title for your CSC and optionally a subtitle. If you are a Novari ATC administrator, optionally choose to create this as an Admin Report.

  • Select Done.

Editing a CSC

Expand a CSC to review the required selections and additional filters. Select an item in the CSC to edit it in the Case Selection Criteria. The Case Selection Criteria is the same as the corresponding Wizard page without the navigation.

You can update the CSC, create a copy of it to build a new one using this one as the basis, or view a summary of the case selection criteria.

Sharing a CSC

You can share your CSCs with other users. This helps ensure consistency in reporting.

  • Select a CSC in the Case Selection Builder.

  • Select Add New in Users Allowed to View this Case Selection.

  • Select a user from the list. To filter the list, start typing a user’s name in the Filter.

  • Choose if the user can edit the CSC and then select Submit New.

  • You can remove users and add or remove the permission to edit a CSC.

Removing a CSC

Removing a CSC means the CSC is no longer available for selection when generating a report. It does not affect previously generated reports.

To remove a CSC, select Remove, select the CSC you want to remove, and then select Remove Checked.

Report Templates

Report templates are built into Novari ATC. The Reports from Case Selections can be used with any applicable CSC. Templates are combined with a CSC to generate the real-time report.

List Reports

Search Completed Cases

View a list of completed cases for:

  • a patient using the patient’s last name or MRN.

  • one or more providers.

  • a patient but limited to one or more providers.

This report is not designed to be printed; only viewed on the page.

Reports from Case Selections

Running a Report

For each of these reports, you are presented with Select Case Selection Criteria. Choose one of your Case Selection Criteria (CSC), the output format (generally HTML or Excel but also PDF) and optionally apply a date criterion to restrict to a specific period. Some report templates have other criteria in addition to these.

Select Run to generate the report.

HTML output displays the report on the report page.

  • The page name displays the name of the report and the CSC name.

  • You can edit the CSC or view a summary of its criteria.

  • You can see when the report was generated.

  • The information icon at the right displays a summary of the report.

  • For many reports, select any hyperlinked text to drill down to see details, for example, from procedure to the patients who had that procedure to a patient’s case detail.

  • For HTML output format, use your browser’s Print functionality to print the report.

Output to Excel downloads a CSV file and displays a dialog where you can edit the CSC, view a summary of the criteria, run the report against different parameters or return to the Reports menu.

The dialog that appears when Completed Cases by Procedure report is generated and outputted to Excel.

  • The filename contains the date the report was generated and the report name.

  • The CSV file is not interactive and is only one level deep.
